medical Nutrition Therapy for eating disorders

Medical Nutrition Therapy is one-on-one work with a Registered Dietitian to meet wellness goals. Sessions are tailored to provide guidance around an individual’s recovery and address physical symptom concerns that may persist from an experience with disordered eating.

June Nutrition’s philosophy & practice is rooted in Medical Nutrition Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) skills, modified FBT (family-based therapy), and body kindness.

The Non-diet approach

The non-diet approach to nutrition counseling returns peace, confidence, and sustainable wellness to the individual. Media, culture, and harsh expectations have introduced undue negativity and self criticism to many. Here, we challenge thought patterns that punish the physical body and stem from feelings of inadequacy, low self esteem, or coping with pressures. These thought patterns can manifest as restricting food, binging or purging, over exercise, punishing thought spirals around body image, or other largely negative experiences. The non-diet approach to nutrition is a compassionate, rewarding, and purposeful form of self-care that provides a steady base to build a recovered life.
